(5/20/09) As you may recall, on March 31st LFA spokesperson Mercedes Yvette participated in a series of television and radio interviews around the country with Frances Ashe-Goins from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women’s Health to launch the first-ever lupus Ad Council campaign. They did a great job talking about the need for the campaign and educating people about the disease.
Montel Williams Radio Show – On May 14th Dr. Gary Gilkeson appeared live on Montel Williams’ new national radio show broadcast on Air America. The program was part of a special women’s health series. The interview focused on discussing lupus, its symptoms, and how to manage the disease.
Arthritis Health Monitor – Arthritis Health Monitor is a free publication distributed in doctors’ offices across the country, and provides self-management tips and the latest in arthritis news and research. The Spring 2009 edition features a profile on Randall Winston, LFA Board Member and producer of the hit television series Scrubs. The story focuses on Randall’s relationship with his sister Karen Winston-Wilson, who has lupus, and how lupus brought them closer together, and changed their lives forever.
